Post with 1 note
Since the Doughnut Vault has been known to play a little hip-hop now and again to get mornings off right, we thought y’all might want to know about an upcoming block party for Chicago’s hip hop arts. Here’s the scoop:

What: The 4th Annual Winter Block Party for Chicago’s Hip-Hop Arts, presented by WBEZ Chicago
When: Saturday, January 21 2012 @ 12:00pm - 11:00pm
Where: Metro 3730 N. Clark Street Chicago, IL 60613
How Much: Noon-6PM: FREE; 8PM: $15/general admission, $12/WBEZ members, $10/students (with valid ID)
The party is slated to feature street art, a graffiti gallery, The Hip Hop Barbershop, breakdancing, and of course, music, and more.
“First held in January 2009, this all-ages, all-city celebration of Chicago’s new and emerging artists of the hip-hop generation is truly a chance for everybody from anywhere to experience the breadth and style, multiple elements and forms of the hip-hop arts,” says the WBEZ site for the event.
Our recommendation: come by the Doughnut Vault, grab yourself a dozen doughnuts and then head over to the street party. We guarantee you’ll make new friends pretty quickly— and get to enjoy some good beats and a tasty doughnut.
