Outside the Intelligentsia Roasting facility where the screening took place
This past weekend, we attended the Chicago Food Film Festival to see the short film about the Doughnut Vault made by the lovely people at Mode Project. The film goes behind the scenes, showing everything from working the dough, to the frying, glazing and, last but not least, drool worthy close-ups of the tantalizing finished doughnuts. But that’s not all… and we won’t give away the cool narration and other elements to the film here, you’ll have to watch and discover for yourselves. But, the clever creativity was a hit and the film won best “super - short.”
We were there on Saturday to watch the premier at Intelligentsia Roasting Works in West Town. The event drew a good crowd, great films, lots of fun food bites, and… doughnuts! Here’s a few pictures from the event. And again, congrats to Mode Project on their win! Well done!

It’s official— we’ll be making our film debut this weekend at the Chicago Food Film Festival. We’re part of “Edible Adventure #004” at the festival, which takes place on Saturday, November 19, at noon. The “adventure” includes several short films, including our personal favorite (okay, we’re just a little biased!) on the Doughnut Vault. The Doughnut Vault film is done by the lovely Mode Project . The team at this boutique creative firm made a very cool, short film that takes viewers behind the scenes at the Doughnut Vault. Whet your appetite with the trailer on our blog!
After the screening, lucky ticket holders have the chance to feast on Doughnut Vault doughnuts as well as foods from a list of awesome participants including, Intelligentsia Coffee, Royal Pies from Pleasant House Bakery, fresh macaroons from Danny Macaroons, beer by Goose Island Beer Company, a juice bar by Prasino. Yum!!
